## Description:

My two elementary schoolers are doing hybrid learning and the remote days are a STRUGGLE. They’re losing focus, I’m losing my sanity trying to juggle work and their ‘school’. Any creative ideas for keeping them engaged with online classes? And how do parents stay sane?! 🤯SOS!

Points for participation, completing assignments, etc. At the end of the week, points can be 'cashed in' for extra screen time or a small treat. Makes it a bit more fun for them.

E.g., choose the order of subjects for the day (if possible). Or pick their own 'brain break' activity. Gives them a sense of agency. It's tough, you're doing great just by asking!

Anonymous [14 May 2025](https://jobicy.com/q/1740823800-how-do-you-keep-kids-and-yourself-motivated#answer-1590.md) Copy answer link Report answerKeeping kids motivated during remote days can be tough.
One idea is to set small, achievable goals for each session. Celebrate when they reach these goals with a special sticker or a tiny reward. This makes tasks feel less overwhelming.
Another tip is to incorporate their interests into lessons. If they love animals, find videos or activities about animals related to what they’re learning.
For your sanity, try creating a simple daily routine and stick to it. It gives everyone predictability and reduces stress.

W. P. [5 Mar 2025](https://jobicy.com/q/1740823800-how-do-you-keep-kids-and-yourself-motivated#answer-3050.md) Copy answer link Report answerWhen my two kids struggled with remote days, I introduced a "theme day" approach. Each remote school day had a fun theme like "Science Safari" or "Math Mystery," and we dressed up or decorated their workspace accordingly.

This made lessons feel like an event rather than a chore, boosting their excitement to participate. Meanwhile, I set clear boundaries by blocking work time on my calendar and communicating those times to colleagues so interruptions were minimal.

Over four weeks, their focus improved by about 30%, and my stress dropped noticeably because the day felt more structured yet playful. Takeaway: blending creativity with structure can transform remote learning into something everyone looks forward to.

Anonymous [1 Apr 2025](https://jobicy.com/q/1740823800-how-do-you-keep-kids-and-yourself-motivated#answer-2689.md) Copy answer link Report answerThis is a golden opportunity to transform challenges into triumphs! Why not create a storytelling routine where your children narrate what they learned each day? This sparks creativity and ownership over their learning journey. Turn remote days into adventure quests by designing simple missions they accomplish while studying. It’s about crafting an inspiring environment that fuels curiosity and joy! For your sanity, embrace micro-meditations or breathwork—moments of calm don't just restore energy but reshape your entire day’s mindset. You are pioneering a new way forward, unlocking potentials in both your kids and yourself like never before!

Mix in kid-choice on order or workspace, but avoid overloading them with screens and constant rewards. Protect your own focus with one nonnegotiable work block, or the whole day turns into a grind-fest.

How we moderate answers

We manually review all contributions to ensure that every answer provides clear, actionable, and professionally relevant guidance. We prioritize responses that show practical experience, cite real examples, or demonstrate familiarity with hiring, skills, and job-market trends. Low-quality, duplicate, or AI-generated content that lacks substance is filtered out to maintain accuracy and credibility across the platform.

What makes a high-quality answer

A high-quality answer offers structured, practical, and experience-based guidance that directly addresses the question. Strong answers include specific steps, industry examples, tools or frameworks, and clear reasoning rather than vague opinions. They avoid emotional language, personal journaling, or lifestyle advice, and instead focus on skills, responsibilities, hiring expectations, resumes, interviews, salary insights, and career transitions. Answers written by individuals with verified professional backgrounds or direct experience in the field are prioritized.

Expert participation rules

Experts participating in Q&A must base their answers on real professional experience, not speculation or generic statements. Contributors are encouraged to reference prior roles, industry exposure, hiring involvement, or relevant technical knowledge when appropriate. All expert responses must remain objective, neutral, and career-focused, avoiding promotional content, personal anecdotes, or lifestyle guidance. Verified experts may receive enhanced visibility on the platform, but only if their contributions consistently meet our quality standards and align with Jobicy’s career-focused topic guidelines.
