Pick roles that show transferable outcomes: run impact reporting, write a grant or sponsorship proposal, build a simple dashboard of volunteer hours and outcomes, do accessibility fixes, or mentor a team.

For remote events I create a one‑page "playbook" with templates and micro‑tasks people can pick up asynchronously, and I set two quick live check‑ins for alignment. Afterward I craft a one‑page impact brief with numbers and a couple quotes, ask organizers for a short testimonial, and share the brief with my manager.

Anonymous: Finally, someone calling out the "feel-good only" holiday volunteering nonsense.
