Copy answer link Report answerFocus on building skills that matter to your target job—lots of fields care more about what you can do than what’s on paper. Try freelancing, internships, or volunteering to get real experience. Also, chase certifications or online courses to boost your credibility. Networking can open doors way faster than just sending resumes. Wdym you don’t have a degree? It’s not the only 🚪 out there!

In my last job, I switched from retail to digital marketing with zero formal education in it. I started by doing free gigs for local businesses and built a small portfolio with real results—like boosting one client’s sales by 20%. That got me interviews. Also, knowing the right people helped way more than resumes did. So yeah, you can jump careers if you hustle on skills and connections, not just diplomas.

Identify what industries value practical experience or certifications over diplomas, like tech, sales, or trades. Build tangible projects or freelance work that prove your capability. Network aggressively with people in your target field; connections beat paper qualifications every time. Shift focus from degrees to demonstrable competence and persistence.

I learned basics on free sites for 3 months, built a portfolio with 5 small apps, then landed an internship paying $15/hr. Prove skills > diplomas. Also, LinkedIn connections helped me snag jobs way faster than just applying cold.

Focus on learning relevant skills through online courses, hnds-on projects, or volunteering. Build real work to show u can deliver results—no one cares about excuses. Network like your job depends on it because most opportunities come from people, not job boards. Stop waiting; start doing and prvoing you’re worth hiring without that fancy piece of paper

Think about building a small project or volunteering somewhere to gain real experience because showing you can do the work often beats just having a paper certificate. I guess being proactive and reaching out to people already doing what you want to do makes a huge difference too; maybe ask for advice or offer help, which sometimes turns into job opportunities. It’s definitely doable if you keep pushing and showing what you’re capable of!

How we moderate answers

We manually review all contributions to ensure that every answer provides clear, actionable, and professionally relevant guidance. We prioritize responses that show practical experience, cite real examples, or demonstrate familiarity with hiring, skills, and job-market trends. Low-quality, duplicate, or AI-generated content that lacks substance is filtered out to maintain accuracy and credibility across the platform.

What makes a high-quality answer

A high-quality answer offers structured, practical, and experience-based guidance that directly addresses the question. Strong answers include specific steps, industry examples, tools or frameworks, and clear reasoning rather than vague opinions. They avoid emotional language, personal journaling, or lifestyle advice, and instead focus on skills, responsibilities, hiring expectations, resumes, interviews, salary insights, and career transitions. Answers written by individuals with verified professional backgrounds or direct experience in the field are prioritized.

Expert participation rules

Experts participating in Q&A must base their answers on real professional experience, not speculation or generic statements. Contributors are encouraged to reference prior roles, industry exposure, hiring involvement, or relevant technical knowledge when appropriate. All expert responses must remain objective, neutral, and career-focused, avoiding promotional content, personal anecdotes, or lifestyle guidance. Verified experts may receive enhanced visibility on the platform, but only if their contributions consistently meet our quality standards and align with Jobicy’s career-focused topic guidelines.
