## Description:

At my current job, it feels like everyone is expected to eat lunch quickly and stay near their workspace. Taking a proper break away seems frowned upon, and I worry about being seen as slacking. Is it normal for workplaces to unofficially discourage stepping away during lunch?

Copy answer link Report answerCheck your local labor laws—they usually require unpaid lunch breaks away from work. If your boss or culture frowns on it, that’s their problem, not a legal penalty. Take your full break off your desk anyway. Productivity won’t tank.
