I’ve seen folks get in through test tech, battery pack assembly, or firmware roles after 2-4 years of brutal hands-on work. No degree makes it slower - employers still want proof you won’t blow up a $20k pack.

Network hard, grab certs, and aim for adjacent roles like test tech or validation first - huge W if you keep grinding.
