## Description:

my philosophy degree is getting me interviews in policy and ethics roles but i keep hearing it’s too abstract for hiring managers. am i better off leaning into it or trying to reframe everything around research and writing?

Copy answer link Report answerPolicy interviews loved my philosophy degree when I framed it as argument analysis, clear writing, and messy tradeoff thinking. Lead with research memos, stakeholder briefs, and any concrete output - then mention ethics as a bonus. Downplay the abstract stuff unless they ask for it; hiring managers usually want proof you can ship usable work.

The boring advice says hide it and pretend you’re a mini economist. That’s weak. Lead with research, writing, and how you handle disagreement without sounding like a seminar. Then let ethics explian why your judgment holds up
