Copy answer link Report answerYes, that move is realistic. Pickker work gives you the actual floor realty, not the fake powerpoint version. A lot of analysts have never touched a pallet and still talk like they invented logistics. If you can learn Excle, basic SQL, and the usual KPIs, plus volunteer for any reporting scraps nobody wants, you can make the jump without waiting for some corporate permission slip.

Skip the “just wait your turn” advice - companies hire analysts who understand inventory chaos, not spreadsheet tourists.

Build Excel or SQL skills, learn KPIs like pick rate, fill rate, and dock-to-stock time, then ask for small reporting tasks with your supervisor. Target dispatch, inventory control, or operations support first - that’s usually the cleanest bridge into analyst work.
