# Should I reapply after an automatic rejection?

[Job Search](https://jobicy.com/question-category/job-search.md) Asked 5 Aug 2026 Active 6 Aug 2026 [Write an answer](#answer-form-container) [Log in to vote](https://jobicy.com/enter4715.php.md)

Question details I was rejected within minutes of applying, but the role was reposted the next day with slightly different wording. I meet the listed requirements and suspect my resume was screened out by keywords. Is reapplying with a revised resume worthwhile, or does it usually look pushy?

Copy answer link Report answer Rejected within minutes suggests a screening rule, not necessarily a review. Reapply only if the repost has a different requisition or materially changed requirements; otherwise duplicate applications may be merged. Align your resume with the exact required terms you genuinely meet, then submit once through the new listing.

Copy answer link Report answer Reapply once if the repost is a new listing, but tailor your resume to the revised language rather than merely adding keywords. An immediate rejection often reflects an automated screen, not a hiring judgment. Submit the updated application through the reposted listing today.
