### Instructions and covered skills

Read each scenario carefully before selecting a response. Focus on the information needed to make an action item accountable and trackable. Consider ownership, expected outcomes, deadlines, dependencies, and communication channels. Do not rely on assumptions that are not stated in the scenario. Work in a quiet setting and turn off notifications before beginning. Review your selections for consistency before submitting the test.

### Key Areas

This test covers the practices used to convert meeting discussion into clear, accountable follow-up. Candidates work with action-item statements that identify a single accountable owner, a defined deliverable, a due date, and a location for tracking progress. They must distinguish actions from decisions, discussion topics, risks, and informational notes so that meeting records remain useful after attendees leave the call.

Questions also address practical status management. This includes recognizing when an item is on track, at risk, blocked, completed, cancelled, or awaiting confirmation. Candidates consider how to document dependencies, handoffs, revised deadlines, and escalation needs without obscuring accountability. Attention is given to evidence of completion, such as a published document, approved plan, deployed change, or confirmed stakeholder response.

Another focus is follow-up communication. Strong coordinators send concise recaps, maintain one reliable tracker, surface overdue items before the next meeting, and request clarification promptly when a commitment is vague. The test examines how to preserve a clear history when scope, ownership, or timing changes. It also considers how facilitators prepare action-item reviews that support decisions rather than repeat every meeting conversation.

### Recommended Preparation

Review meeting minutes, project trackers, and follow-up emails used in a workplace setting. Practice rewriting vague commitments into statements with an owner, observable result, and agreed deadline. Compare examples of decisions, risks, parking-lot items, and action items to understand the purpose of each record type.

Prepare by considering common coordination scenarios: an absent owner, an item with multiple contributors, a dependency outside the team, a missed due date, and a request that lacks success criteria. Familiarize yourself with status labels and the evidence needed to close work. When reviewing a sample tracker, ask whether another person could identify the responsible person, expected outcome, current status, and next step without attending the original meeting.

### Examples of questions

1. What information should be included when documenting a meeting action item?
2. How should an action item be written when two teams must contribute?
3. What is the best way to record an action that depends on an external approval?
4. When should an action owner report that a due date is at risk?
5. How should a completed action be verified before it is closed?
6. What distinguishes a decision record from an action item?
7. How should recurring follow-up actions be represented in a tracker?
8. What should a meeting facilitator do when an action has no named owner?
9. How can a team prevent duplicate actions from being assigned after a meeting?
10. What status should be used when work cannot begin because of a dependency? 03
