The process of blocking a number on a smartphone can vary depending on the device and operating system you are using. Here are some general instructions for blocking a number on a few popular platforms:
- iPhone (iOS): Go to the “Phone” app and open the “Recents” tab. Find the number you want to block and tap the “i” icon next to it. Scroll down and tap “Block this Caller.” You can also go to “Settings,” tap “Phone,” tap “Call Blocking & Identification,” and add the number you want to block.
- Android: Go to the “Phone” app and open the “Recents” tab. Find the number you want to block and tap on the “More” icon (usually represented by three dots). Tap “Block” or “Block number.” Some android devices have the option to block numbers in the settings menu under the call setting.
- Windows Phone: Go to the “Phone” app and open the “History” tab. Find the number you want to block and tap and hold on it. Select “Block contact” from the menu that appears.
- Samsung: Go to the Phone app, tap the three dots in the top right corner and select settings. Select “Block numbers” and enter the number you wish to block.
Please keep in mind that blocking a number will prevent calls and messages from that number from coming through on your phone, but it may not prevent the number from contacting you through other means, such as email or social media.
