Bayer

I represent Bayer AG, a multinational life sciences company founded in 1863 in Barmen (now part of Wuppertal), Germany. Our company originated as a manufacturer of dyestuffs, founded by Friedrich Bayer and Johann Friedrich Weskott, and has since evolved into a global leader in pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare, and agricultural sciences.

Our headquarters are in Leverkusen, Germany, where we oversee our operations across three main business segments: pharmaceuticals, consumer health, and crop science. We are proud to provide innovative products that improve health and nutrition worldwide, including well-known medicines such as Aspirin, first trademarked in 1899, which remains a staple in pain relief and cardiovascular health.

In the United States, Bayer operates through Bayer Corporation and Bayer U.S. LLC, headquartered in Whippany, New Jersey. Our U.S. entity includes over 40 subsidiaries across 19 states, reflecting our expansive footprint and commitment to American markets. We develop, produce, and market prescription medications, over-the-counter products, animal health solutions, and agricultural chemicals.

Bayer is committed to sustainability and social responsibility; for example, our “Making Science Make Sense” STEM education program encourages inquiry-based learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our philanthropic efforts in the United States focus on education, workforce development, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

We continually invest in innovation and R&D to tackle global challenges such as health care demands due to aging populations and the need for secure, sustainable food production. Our integration of biotechnology and advanced chemical solutions positions us at the forefront of life sciences.

With a global workforce of over 100,000 and revenues in the tens of billions, Bayer remains dedicated to “Science for a better life,” striving to improve quality of life for people and the planet alike.
