Dayforce

Dayforce Inc., originally founded as Ceridian in 1992, is a global human capital management (HCM) software company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. The company provides cloud-based HCM solutions including human resources, payroll and tax, workforce management, benefits, talent intelligence, and more. It serves a broad range of clients across the United States, Canada, Australia, and internationally.

The company’s flagship product, Dayforce, is a comprehensive cloud platform that helps organizations manage the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment through development and payroll processing. In addition to Dayforce, the company offers Powerpay, a cloud payroll and HR solution tailored for small businesses. Dayforce also provides payroll-related services and professional consulting including training and implementation.

Founded originally as Ceridian, the company launched Dayforce in 1997 and has expanded significantly since. In 2012, Ceridian acquired Dayforce Corporation and began focusing on expanding the Dayforce platform globally. The company went public in 2018, and in 2024 officially rebranded from Ceridian HCM Holding Inc. to Dayforce Inc. to align with its flagship product.

Dayforce aims to innovate in adjacent markets, as seen with features like Dayforce Wallet introduced in 2020. The company’s solutions are distributed through both direct sales and third-party channels. Dayforce’s CEO is David Ossip, who has led the company since shortly after the 2012 acquisition of Dayforce Corporation.
