We have an exciting leadership role open on our Accounting team! This role will oversee accounting and reporting of all transactions which result in any payment owed to Ferguson by a vendor: rebates, unbundling, DC job reconciliations and claimbacks, branch claimbacks, co-ops, and the like.
Location:
This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid out of our Corporate Offices in Newport News, VA, in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and monitor all activities of the Vendor Funds Department.
- Responsible for evaluating and ensuring proper control environment is maintained surrounding all aspects of Vendor Funds accounting.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to implement and maintain appropriate controls and processes.
- Provide input and advisement to senior leadership regarding the Vendor Funds function within the context of the financial results.
- Handle good operational relationships with Sourcing, Procurement, Marketing and rest of the Finance organization; proactively communicate and satisfactorily address their needs and issues.
- Lead the accumulation, consolidation and analysis of all financial data necessary for an accurate tracking, reporting and accurate reconciliation of vendor payments against defined program parameters to ensure receipt of accurate and timely payment.
- Oversee rebate, DC job reconciliation and claimback software administration process including ensuring accurate information is provided for rebate receivable calculations, leading the training and coaching of analysts to use the rebate software, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and perform financial analysis to help evaluate the various aspects of existing rebate programs (e.g. evaluation of rebate tiers) to ensure that both company estimates and collections represent accurate accounting of Rebate Agreements.
- Supervise associates, including Analysts and managers, through hiring, assigning and monitoring work, coaching, mentoring, evaluating performance, recognizing and rewarding achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience, required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting within the private sector in for-profit enterprises.
- Understands rebate accounting and the systems that automate this function; background in systems and processes.
- Experience with implementing rebate software ideal.
- Prior experience leading multiple associates and/or work groups required.
- Highly developed skills in financial decision making and internal controls.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Outstanding and professional communication skills.
- Able to generate and communicate presentations to large groups.
- Able to function independently and with minimal guidance.

Pay Range:
Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
$9,225.00 – $15,033.70
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
