The Pagos Data Platform team builds the infrastructure powering our payments data observability, insights, benchmarking, and streaming solutions. Pagos has collected incredibly rich payments data from leading merchants, card networks, and fraud services, which allows us to deliver meaningful insights that directly impact our customers.

About the Role
As a Software Engineer on our Data Platform team, you’ll play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining the data platform and backend for our products. This is an opportunity to work with cutting edge technology that transforms rich data into actionable intelligence for our customers. You will collaborate with Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to build new features, modules, and extensions for our system.

In this role, you will:
- Craft high quality code for scale, availability, and performance
- Collaborate with Engineers, Data Scientists/Data Analysts, and the Product team to build high-performing, customer-focused solutions
- Drive engineering projects from start to finish with a high level of ownership
- Ensure the quality of our product through code reviews, testing, and bug fixing
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with:
- 8+ years of software development experience with a proven track record of developing and scaling high-availability systems
- Strong expertise in backend development with .NET/C#, Python or NodeJS/Typescript, or a desire to and track-record of learning new tools
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and common data-related services (e.g. S3, Redshift, EMR, Glue, Kinesis, Athena)
- Advanced experience with complex SQL queries and database/lakehouse technologies such as Redshift, Snowflake, Clickhouse, Apache Druid, and Postgres
- A bias for action, where no task is too small
Nice to haves:
- Experience with managing infrastructure, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Terraform Cloud
- Experience working in high growth, venture-backed startup(s)
- Prior experience with fintech, trading, or transaction/payments data for optimization, fraud, recommendation, routing, or tracking
