Archive Job Description

Opportunity is not evenly distributed. Shopify puts independence within reach for anyone with a dream to start a business. We propel entrepreneurs and enterprises to scale the heights of their potential. Since 2006, we’ve grown to over 8,300 employees and generated over $947 billion in sales for millions of merchants in 175 countries.

This is life-defining work that directly impacts people’s lives as much as it transforms your own. This is putting the power of the few in the hands of the many, is a future with more voices rather than fewer, and is creating more choices instead of an elite option.

About you:

Moving at our pace brings a lot of change, complexity, and ambiguity—and a little bit of chaos. Shopifolk thrive on that and are comfortable being uncomfortable. That means Shopify is not the right place for everyone.

Before you apply, consider if you can:

  • Care deeply about what you do and about making commerce better for everyone
  • Excel by seeking professional and personal hypergrowth
  • Keep up with an unrelenting pace (the week, not the quarter)
  • Be resilient and resourceful in face of ambiguity and thrive on (rather than endure) change
  • Bring critical thought and opinion
  • Embrace differences and disagreement to get shit done and move forward
  • Work digital-first for your daily work

About the role:

Shopify is on a fast-moving mission to redefine commerce, raising the standard for how businesses of all sizes manage, market and sell their products and services. With millions of merchants in more than 175 countries, Shopify continues to grow rapidly while constantly looking for new ways to impact and disrupt markets.

The Revenue Operations team sits in the centre of the organization, linking together different functional groups and enabling scalable growth through business insights, technology, process and transformation.

As a Senior Business Operations Analyst supporting the Post-sales crafts (Merchant Success, Launch Engineering) in APAC, you will have significant exposure to both global and regional cross-functional teams. Working in a fast-paced environment, your operational expertise and passion for delivering a world class merchant experience, whilst identifying high-growth revenue opportunities within our existing merchant base, will shine in this role. This is your opportunity to showcase the value that Revenue Operations can bring to a fast-growing organisation with endless opportunities.

We would prefer a candidate to be based in Australia or Singapore and this is a remote position.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ANALYTICS & BUSINESS INSIGHTS: Pulling different sources of data together to understand performance and identify opportunities. Gather context from various areas of the business to understand underlying business drivers. Translate data-informed analysis, research and qualitative observations into recommendations. Become a trusted business partner for Craft leads in the APAC region, and a voice into the global Operations teams, gaining buy-in and support.
  • PERFORMANCE TRACKING & STRATEGY: Leverage or localise operating rhythms & regular reporting suites that enable the Post Sales (Launch Engineering and Merchant Success) teams to assess performance against targets, understand merchant behaviour, proactively see areas of risk, and develop account management strategies that deliver a world class merchant experience.
  • MERCHANT GROWTH & SEGMENTATION: Applying a commercial business lens, support the teams to leverage tools that identify areas of opportunity for upsell/cross-sell within our existing merchant base. Continually review, recommend and operationalise optimal (segmented) service models across APAC, as we grow and scale into new markets.
  • CAPACITY & FORECASTING: Collaborating with the other Business Operations Analysts, analyse downstream impacts of sales pipelines and targets on the Post-Sales (Launch Engineering and Merchant Success) teams. Use this analysis to proactively inform and influence global capacity and hiring decisions.
  • PROCESS OPTIMISATION: Support the global and regional Process and Tooling teams to better understand the APAC region and opportunities to drive efficiency and scalability.
  • SALESFORCE.COM MANAGEMENT: Maintain Salesforce data as necessary for the post sales crafts, developing or localising global tools and dashboards as needed to optimise daily workflows and insights.
  • CHANGE MANAGEMENT: Storytell changes in an effective way to gain buy-in. Engage with internal partners as required to ensure the right tools, content, training and communications are in place to enable key changes.
  • INTERNATIONAL ALIGNMENT:  Constantly be discovering and developing best practices, sharing learnings with global counterparts & creating scalability. Champion APAC priorities to influence our global roadmaps.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years Revenue / Business Operations experience in a high growth, fast-paced environment. B2B SaaS technology experience is ideal.
  • Experience with data management and Salesforce.com administration
  • Proficient with Excel/GoogleSheets and a natural curiosity to leverage tools like AI to improve analytical horsepower and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical thinking and commercial business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentations, story-telling, facilitation, consultative questioning and influencing
  • Natural curiosity and the tenacity to challenge current practices
  • Comfortable learning new applications/tools quickly with minimal direction
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Great cross-functional team player, always ready to roll up your sleeves and work in the details
  • Experience working within the Retail, eCommerce or Payments industry is a bonus
