As a Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to engage with and support business partners across multiple campuses in student-focused departments (primarily Student Life, but also Global Partnerships and Programs, Purdue Conferences & Event Design, and the Purdue ID Card Operations). Our wide array of business partners and stakeholders offer a broad portfolio of applications, processes, and solutions.
We are looking for a business analyst who is excited about engaging business partners to improve current processes as well as scoping out new solutions to better meet the changing needs and challenges of our stakeholders. You will be working on a team with other business analysts as well as collaborating with our system administration and application development teams on assessments, process improvements and other projects. The ideal candidate will exhibit creativity in problem solving and have a passion for learning.

What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or related fields
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in designing and developing business solutions
- Experience with writing business requirements, test scripts and training materials
- Experience with project management (waterfall and/or agile)
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
Skills Needed:
- Demonstrated skills in:
- customer focus, teamwork/collaboration, and coaching/mentoring peers including other IT business analysts and IT staff, and system end users
- leading minor to standard projects
- Proficiency with utilizing Microsoft Office products and a Microsoft Windows environment
- Demonstrated ability to:
- effectively work within a team and foster change
- define business requirements, ROI, design and implement business processes
- do root cause investigation and analysis, systems testing, defect tracking and resolution
- define business requirements and implement business process redesign
- Working knowledge of a module, module capabilities or knowledge of system design and analysis practices
- Capable of problem solving, leading problem management s, business case development, and organizational change management
- Knowledge or experience in business process improvement methodologies. Agile mindset is a bonus
- Personal competencies in integrity, flexibility/adaptability, stress management, judgment, and drive for results
- Ability to:
- effectively communicate through written and verbal communication
- apply PMBOK project management framework

- facilitate meetings, resolve conflict and lead teams to consensus

Preferred:
- Working knowledge of university IT solutions
- ScrumMaster, Business Analyst, and/or PMI Certifications
