Financial Accountant to provide daily accounting, recordkeeping and support services for the finance team within the Group.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of source data in the accounting system, adhering to IFRS standards and internal controls
- Assist in performing bank, investment, and system reconciliations
- Oversee the review of expense documents submitted to the Expense Management System, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
- Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of vendor master data in compliance with company standards
- Review, validate or execute monthly contractor payouts, ensuring payments are prepared with proper documentation with adherence to internal control policies
- Manage contractor reimbursement claims with precision, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Manage communications with internal and external service providers regarding payments and document handling, utilizing chat, email, and shared mailbox platforms
- Oversee and manage the reconciliation of intercompany balances, addressing discrepancies to maintain accuracy and alignment with financial policies
- Support the finance team in managing external audits, coordinating with auditors to ensure thorough and accurate audit processes
- Preparing and posting journal entries for accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and other adjustments
- Perform regular analysis and reconciliation of accounts payable (AP) to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and support timely financial reporting
- Provide support in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure strict adherence to company-wide financial accounting processes and policies, applying them consistently to meet the highest standards.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation to streamline workflows and optimize operational performance
- Apply best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy across financial operations, ensuring consistent and reliable results
- Consistently deliver timely results on ad-hoc tasks and offer proactive support to various departments, including Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and Operations
- Offer consistent daily support to finance team members within the Company and the Group, ensuring smooth operations
- Provide guidance, and mentorship to junior staff, helping them develop skills and advance in their roles
- Engage in training sessions and team-building activities
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance
- Strong knowledge of IFRS
- ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CFA qualifications (or ongoing certification) will be considered an advantage.
Other Qualifications:
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a strong eagerness to learn
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbally
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
