Sourcing Vendor Relations Specialist
Reports to: Global Procurement Manager
Location: Remote UK/Greece/Portugal
Overview: The Sourcing Vendor Specialist will primarily focus on strategic stage onboarding suppliers and keep long-term partnerships for better commercial conditions. Lead and develop processes to streamline the procurement activities. You will support the department KPIs and implement savings initiatives for the company business. Assists with procurement activities and management decisions.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Identifying Needs: Understanding what the company needs to acquire (goods, services, raw materials) in terms of quality, quantity, and timelines.
- Market Research and Analysis: Identifying potential suppliers in the market, evaluating their capabilities, reputation, compliance, and alignment with company goals.
- Supplier Evaluation: Critically assessing potential suppliers based on criteria such as cost, quality, delivery time, sustainability, innovation, etc.
- Building and Managing Relationships: Establishing and maintaining a chain of strategic business partners, aiming for mutually beneficial, long-term relationships.
- Negotiation: Conducting negotiations with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms (price, payment terms, deadlines, warranties).
- Spend management: Understands service spends across the business, analyses category markets and translates into actionable strategies and forward-looking analyses.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating supply-related risks (disruptions, quality issues, over-reliance on a single supplier).
- Manage Payment Terms: Develop partnership with suppliers for better payment conditions in long term.
- Lead cost savings initiatives globally and work with team members to continue progress on existing projects.
- Assists with global roll-out and governance of Procure systems and tools. Including support daily activities when needed, creating and issuing Purchase Orders to selected suppliers.
What we need from you:
- Degree qualified preferably in Engineering, Finance, Business, or other relevant discipline.
- Expertise / exposure across Direct and Indirect spend.
- Experience collaborating closely with suppliers / stakeholders/ budget owners.
- Highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
