Role Summary
The Lead of IT Recruitment will own the full lifecycle technical recruiting function for Theoria. This role will serve as the senior-most recruiting expert for technical and data talent, managing both U.S. and offshore sourcing teams. They will implement world-class sourcing strategies, partner with engineering and product leaders, and lead the build-out of our tech recruiting infrastructure, metrics, and employer brand. This is a strategic leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a high-growth, high-ownership environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Tech Recruiting Oversight
- Drive the entire recruiting process for software engineering, data science, ML/AI, DevOps, and infrastructure roles.
- Serve as point of contact for hiring managers and leadership across tech and product teams.
- Ensure strong pipeline velocity and candidate experience.
- Team Leadership
- Manage and train a dedicated tech recruiting pod in the Philippines (PH).
- Conduct weekly sourcing workshops (Boolean search, GitHub/Kaggle sourcing, interview prep).
- Implement KPIs and performance scorecards for PH recruiting pod (100+ outreaches/week, 10â20 screens/week, etc.).
- Strategic Infrastructure Development
- Partner with the SVP of Talent to deploy tools and processes:
- ATS: Greenhouse
- Assessments: Codility or HackerRank
- Outreach: Gem, AmazingHiring, or Notion-based tracking
- Scorecards: Role-specific, focusing on coding, modeling, communication, and teamwork
- External Search Partner Coordination
- Vet and manage external search firms during interim hiring phases (e.g., Manila Recruitment, A7, Curran Daly).
- Lead contract negotiations, candidate pipeline reviews, and quality control.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Provide weekly reports on sourcing metrics, candidate funnel, and conversion rates.
- Act as liaison between hiring teams and recruiting function to ensure alignment.
- Employer Branding & Community Engagement
- Partner with marketing to launch âCareers in Tech at Theoriaâ landing page.
- Host webinars and represent Theoria in tech communities (e.g., Data Science PH, UP Diliman).
- Passive Talent Pipeline Development
- Oversee execution of passive sourcing SOPs across LinkedIn, GitHub, Kaggle, and job boards.
- Target top-tier talent from companies such as Canva, Thinking Machines, Pointwest, Accenture, and more.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5â10 years in tech recruiting at high-growth tech firms or technical agencies
- Expertise: Advanced sourcing techniques across GitHub, Kaggle, Boolean logic, and LinkedIn Recruiter
- Leadership: Proven success leading distributed recruiting teams (especially in the Philippines)
- Industry Acumen: Experience hiring in engineering, data, ML/AI, and DevOps
- Tools: Familiarity with Greenhouse, Gem, HackerRank, and recruitment analytics
- Soft Skills: Highly organized, strong communicator, high ownership mindset, and startup scrappiness
