About the role
As a Business Developer for the Italian market, you will play a key role in expanding our seller base, with a strong focus on acquiring new suppliers in Jewellery and Watches. Youâll be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, engaging with potential sellers, and guiding them through the onboarding process to ensure long-term success on our platform.
We are looking for a candidate based in Italy, fluent in Italian, entrepreneurial in spirit, and eager to drive our growth in the region.
What youâll do
- __Lead Generation & Business Development__Identify, approach, and convert high-potential sellers in Italy through cold outreach, market research, fairs, and referrals. Build a strong pipeline of prospects focused on Jewellery and Watches.
- __Sales Conversion & Onboarding__Own the full sales cycle – from prospecting to closing â and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for newly signed sellers, helping them meet Catawikiâs quality standards from day one.
- Market Intelligence & Opportunity Mapping Stay ahead of industry trends in Italyâs Jewellery and Watch sectors, understanding supply chains, competitive dynamics, and sourcing opportunities.
- Collaboration Work closely with category experts and the commercial team to define ideal seller profiles, align on pricing strategies, and share insights that contribute to category growth.
What youâll bring
- Sales Drive & Hunting Mindset Proven track record in outbound sales or business development, ideally in a fast-paced or entrepreneurial environment. Youâre motivated by targets and proactive in pursuing leads.
- Language & Location Native or fluent in Italian, with professional proficiency in English. You are based in Italy and comfortable with occasional travel to meet sellers or attend trade events.
- Tools & Skills Comfortable using CRM systems like HubSpot, as well as Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, etc.). Organized, self-sufficient, and data-driven in your approach.
- Educational Background Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in a relevant field (Business, Sales, Marketing, etc.) is preferred.
- __Relevant Industry Background (Preferred)__Experience in the Jewellery or Watch industry is a strong asset, as it can provide a relevant network and a deeper understanding of industry-specific topics, which can support more effective seller acquisition and onboarding.

Our Offices and Way of Working
Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. This means we typically ask you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with your colleagues. Of course, if the job description specifies that the role is 100% remoteâsuch as for certain expert or sales positionsâthen that arrangement will apply.
