The opportunity
DZone.com â one of the world’s largest communities of software developers â is looking for a content and community strategist with expertise in the software development space to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for curating, optimizing, and expanding our developer-focused content while fostering a vibrant and engaged tech community. You will bring your strategic thinking, creativity, and data-driven decision-making to collaborate with our team on content, community, and product initiatives. Working closely with the rest of the content and community team, you will help shape the future of DZoneâs content and engagement strategy to ensure that DZone.com continues to be the go-to resource for developers worldwide.

What you’ll do
Content Strategy and Management
- Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with DZoneâs mission and audience needs
- Study trends along the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and create technical, engaging questions and surveys where the data collected will inform key findings in our premium products and community initiativesÂ
- Analyze, manage, inform, and optimize our strategic and user-generated content across the DZone.com portfolio to ensure that it aligns with our community and organizational goals of fostering a collaborative environment that empowers developers to share knowledge and build skills
- Curate and optimize high-quality technical content, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and SEO-friendly
- Coordinate and create the solution guides comprised of technical companies for our premium products
- Track and analyze content performance and metrics across the portfolio and use insights to refine the editorial strategy
Community Engagement and Growth
- Oversee strategic community-driven content initiatives including article development and improvement pipelines
- Own the selection of all newsletter content, craft promotional content for newsletters as needed, and manage newsletter workflows for our 5 different newsletter types
- Collaborate with and nurture relationships with subject matter experts and community members to enhance DZoneâs content
- Work closely with the team to align content and community efforts with business goals
- Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in content strategy and developer community building
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in managing, analyzing, and strategizing for the web or prior work experience within the tech space.
- Knowledgeable in SEO best practices, optimizing content and distribution for maximum impact.
- Passionate about the SDLC and tech content, with a strong understanding of developer and tech professional needs.
- Data-driven, spotting industry trends and turning insights into action.
- Strategic thinker who balances long-term goals with team needs, anticipating challenges and aligning content with revenue objectives.
- Strong communicator and collaborator, working cross-functionally to execute content and community strategies effectively.
- Organized and process-oriented, managing multiple projects while adapting to high-stakes deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Must have a working laptop/pc and internet and back-up connection
- Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward

Salary Range
We seek to hire top-tier individuals and intend for our compensation to be at a rate that allows us to recruit and retain individuals who align with our core values, purpose, mission, and vision. Final total compensation is based on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to, skill level, relevant experience to the position, and cost of labor.
