About the Role
We are seeking a results-driven Manager of Global Strategic Sourcing & Category Management to lead sourcing initiatives across the IT and Merchant Hardware portfolio, including custom-built private label tablets and smart devices, network infrastructure, and hardware deployment programs via Managed Service Providers (MSPs). In this individual contributor role, you will serve as the sourcing expert and strategic partner to internal business units, including Technology, Ops, Product, and Finance. You will lead end-to-end sourcing initiativesâRFx events, contract negotiations, manufacturing engagements, and deployment programsâwhile owning total category lifecycle and strategy. You will report to the Senior Manager, Global Strategic Sourcing on the Finance org. You will work remote within the United States, with the expectation of 20-30% travel for team events, offsites, and supplier visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end sourcing and category strategy for IT, Merchant Hardware, Manufacturing, Network Equipment, and Telecom Carriers.
- Lead roadmap and vendor strategy for DoorDashâs custom private label hardware, coordinating manufacturing and supplier management.
- Execute and lead RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ) to support new product introductions, cost optimization, and lifecycle refreshes.
- Negotiate complex contracts (MSAs, SOWs, licensing, supply and service agreements) with both domestic and global suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with OEMs, manufacturing partners, and logistics providers to ensure seamless production and delivery of custom tablets and accessories.
- Oversee performance, SLAs, and escalations for MSPs responsible for deploying and supporting field hardware.
- Serve as the primary sourcing advisor to key stakeholders in Engineering, Product, Ops, Legal, and Finance.
- Enable stakeholder self-service via sourcing frameworks and tools, while advising on complex or strategic engagements.
- Deliver measurable savings and cash flow impact through total cost of ownership analysis and supplier consolidation strategies.
- Track supplier performance, pricing trends, and commercial terms to inform negotiation strategy and spend visibility reporting.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of sourcing and procurement experience with a focus on hardware, telecom, and manufacturing.
- Deep expertise in managing categories such as custom hardware, ruggedized tablets, kiosks, payment terminals, and network devices.
- Experience sourcing and managing manufacturing engagements with OEMs/ODMs, including component sourcing and NPI.
- Proven track record managing Managed Service Providers, including deployment logistics, hardware lifecycle support, and SLA enforcement.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience structuring contracts for hardware supply, services, and international logistics.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment, managing multiple priorities with precision.
- Experience in networking equipment procurement and working with carriers and telecom vendors is a plus.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.

Compensation
The successful candidateâs starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employeeâs work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

- For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.$130,600â$192,000 USD
