Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an ITS Project Manager and Business Development Lead to join the Intelligent Mobility Services (IMS) team in Canada. Arcadisâs Intelligent Mobility Services (IMS) group offers technology consulting services to public and private sector mobility clients, with a focus on clients in the US, Canada, UK and India. The Canadian business has a strategic goal to grow within the Western Canadian market, particularly in British Columbia and Alberta. This growth would build off existing Major Project work in Western Canada, long standing system deployments within BC and Alberta, and a robust practice within the US Pacific Northwest.Â
This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring todayâs mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the worldâs growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
The IMS Western Canada ITS Project Manager and Business Development Lead is responsible for the delivery of intelligent transportation systems projects and the growth of IMSâs Western Canada practice. The person would be supported by the IMS Canada country lead for the delivery of work and by the IMS Global Sales Director and Market Sector Sales Leads for the business development aspect of the role. The ITS Project Manager and Business Development Lead will be accountable for growth of Western Canada practice, successful project delivery, and internal and external relationships with clients, partners / competitors and other parts of Arcadis working in the Western Canada market. The successful candidate will be results oriented, organized and energetic, with strong business acumen. Specific qualifications includes strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative working style, drive and initiative.
- Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of complex IMS projects in Canada and abroad within the transit and roads/highways sector. This includes client management, management of project delivery teams, financial management, engineering analysis, review of technical of work, etc. Such projects will typically involve multi-disciplinary teams drawn from different groups and geographies within Arcadis.
- Business Development: Develop new business with clients in Western Canada within the fields of intelligent transportation systems, smart mobility and mobility management. Typical sectors of focus would include roads, highways, transit, new mobility, and ports and would include both the public and private sectors. The person would also develop relationships with partner and competitive firms within the Western Canadian market. Â The Business Development aspect of the role includes establishing relationships internally within Arcadis, plugging IMS into the growing portfolio of Arcadis projects in Western Canada.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in a related field
- Strong network of transportation client contacts in British Columbia and AlbertaÂ
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, transportation, systems or similar field, with preference for a P.Eng qualification

The salary range for this position is $114,590-$212,810. The base salary represents Arcadisâ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
