What Youâll DoÂ
Weâre looking for a Staff Software Engineer with a passion for crafting intuitive, high-impact user experiencesâsomeone excited to help shape the way professionals work within Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
As part of NetDocumentsâ Collaboration Team, youâll build B2B SaaS solutions on modern cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, helping us deliver seamless integrations at enterprise scale. Youâll work side by side with product managers, designers, and engineers in a collaborative, empowered environment where teams own their services end to end. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering.Â
Note: This role is approximately 70% hands-on coding and 30% mentorship and technical leadership.Â
You will:Â
- Design, develop, and maintain applications and services using React and .NET, hosted on AWS, ensuring high performance and reliability.Â
- Define and document system architecture using diagrams and technical design specifications to support scalable, maintainable solutions.Â
- Mentor other engineers by providing feedback on architecture, code quality, and documentation, and contributing to team growth through recruiting and onboarding.Â
- Build, test, and validate new features and systems to meet performance, quality, and compliance standards. Monitor system behavior and implement performance optimizations.Â
- Interpret functional and non-functional requirements to deliver secure and robust software solutions. Maintain and enhance existing applications with minimal supervision.Â
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product and design. Estimate and plan work using Agile practices, user stories, and technical tasks.Â
- Analyze operational and system challenges, define requirements, and propose innovative solutions aligned with business goals.Â
- Stay current on tools, technologies, and best practicesâparticularly in open sourceâand apply insights to improve development processes and systems.Â
- Share knowledge, support company goals, protect sensitive information, and contribute to engineering initiatives as needed.Â
What Youâll Need to be SuccessfulÂ
- 10+ years of software engineering experienceÂ
- Bachelorâs degreeâ¯or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent on-the-job experience.
- 3+ years of experience mentoring software engineers on a team.Â
- Sound understanding of microservices and event-driven architecturesÂ
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, including scalability, reliability, and performance considerations.Â
- Deep, hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, particularly with PaaS offerings and cloud-native architecture.Â
- Practical experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures in complex application ecosystems.Â
- Experience leading effective technical architecture discussions and driving technical decisions.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Be a thought-leader, inspiring the team to think big and start small
- Ability to add transparency to the health of running applications through logging and telemetry for proactively triaging system issues and hardening the performance of applications.
What Will Make You Stand OutÂ
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Graph, Entra, and OfficeJSÂ
- Familiarity with the legal industry or adjacent domains, with an understanding of user workflows and needs.Â
- Experience developing software for regulated environments, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and governance standards.Â

Compensation TransparencyÂ
The compensation range for this position is: $160,000 – $190,000
The posted cash compensation for this position includes on target earnings. Some roles may qualify for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are determined based on various factors specific to each candidate, such as career level, skills, experience, geographic location, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.Â
