Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we’ve made our way from down under, to a hub San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations, although this role is fully remote from California.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead and elevate our general ledger team of 5 through this next phase of growth. In this role, you’ll set the direction for GL operations, lead a high-performing team, and architect the processes and systems that support scale, speed, and accuracy. You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence across the monthly close, strengthening controls, and simplifying workflows.
This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader who combines strategic thinking with operational execution, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and is excited about transforming accounting through automation, process improvement, and AI.
What you’ll do
Lead and develop a high-performing General Ledger Accounting team, fostering a growth mindset, ownership, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Oversee the monthly close for the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis, and related financial reporting deliverables.
Set the strategy for automation and process improvements, streamlining GL operations, reducing close timelines, and leveraging scalable, tech-enabled solutions — including AI.
Strengthen internal controls and support SOX compliance, audit readiness, and documentation across all key processes.
Act as a strategic thought partner across the business, collaborating with FP&A, Tax, Finance Systems, and operational teams to simplify and scale financial processes.
What we’re looking for
Experience leading Manager-level accounting teams in both high-growth and public company environments. CPA (or equivalent) required.
Deep expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
A track record of driving accounting transformation, with interest or experience in AI-enabled automation.
Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across teams.
Proven ability to lead teams in dynamic, high-growth environments with focus and clarity.
A roll-up-your-sleeves mindset — you’re energized by both strategic planning and hands-on execution.

At Canva we value fairness, and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation whilst ensuring internal equity within the team in each region. We make hiring decisions based on your skills, experience and our overall assessment of what we observed and learnt in the hiring process. The target base salary range for this position is $169,000 – $237,000. When calculating offers, we make salary decisions based on market data and candidates’ skills and experience.
