Job Summary
They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join their global team in building innovative, high-performance mobile applications that deliver news to millions of users worldwide. As a key member of their mobile development team, you will design, develop, and optimize their Android applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and user experience.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, backend, QA) to define, build, and deliver new features.
Optimize app performance, ensuring smooth user experiences even under high-traffic conditions.
Implement best practices for clean architecture, MVVM, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines/Flow.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Stay updated on the latest Android trends, tools, and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other technical issues.
Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
Work closely with backend teams to integrate with RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
5+ years of professional Android development experience.
Expertise in Kotlin and familiarity with Java.
Deep understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, and Material Design guidelines.
Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
Proficiency in RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and offline storage (Room/SQLite).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Firebase App Distribution, Fastlane).
Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and benchmarking tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
Located in Latin America.
Fluent in English.
