About the Role
We are seeking a Local & Technical SEO Manager with deep experience in both hands-on implementation and strategic planning. This role will own our local SEO growth across a multi-location veterinary care network while also overseeing the technical foundation that drives organic visibility. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, stays ahead of search engine trends, and knows how to turn SEO into a scalable client acquisition engine.
Optimize and manage local business profiles and listings including Google My Business, Yelp, Apple Maps, and other relevant citation sources.
Own and execute our client’s local SEO strategy, including structured location pages, local keyword targeting, reviews integration, and map pack visibility.
Develop and implement advanced technical SEO strategies to improve site visibility and rankings across all major search engines.
Conduct comprehensive technical audits to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions promptly.
Collaborate closely with content, product/development, and marketing teams to ensure SEO best practices are consistently integrated.
Optimize website architecture, internal linking, and metadata to enhance site performance and crawlability.
Monitor, analyze, and report on SEO performance metrics using analytics tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, BrightLocal Screaming Frog, etc.
Develop and present SEO strategy, performance insights, and reporting to marketing and leadership teams.
Stay abreast of algorithm changes, industry trends, and new SEO technologies, integrating this knowledge into strategic initiatives.
Resolve complex technical SEO issues such as indexing, canonicalization, site speed optimization, schema markup, and mobile usability.
Leverage AI-driven tools and technologies to enhance keyword research, content optimization, and technical audits.
Implement strategies for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) to ensure content visibility on evolving search platforms.
Conduct outreach to secure article features, backlinks, and partnership opportunities that enhance the site’s authority and visibility.
Requirements
What You Bring
Minimum 3-4 years of proven technical & Local SEO experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating measurable success.
Demonstrated success managing multi-location SEO for service-based or local businesses.
Experience with local SEO platforms such as BrightLocal, Yext, or Moz Local.
Extensive knowledge of technical SEO tools and platforms, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
Proficiency in Webflow, with ability to implement technical SEO updates independently.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with CMS platforms such as Webflow.
Exceptional analytical skills with experience interpreting data and drawing actionable insights.
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate both technical and strategic concepts to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with the capability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with B2C service-based brick-and-mortar businesses (e.g., pet care, healthcare, wellness, or retail).
Experience in an agency or high-traffic digital business environment.
Google Analytics and SEO-related certifications.
Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and local business JSON-LD schema.
Familiarity with web development processes, frameworks, and best practices.
