The Data & Analytics Product team defines and delivers data models, research and analytics infrastructure, tools, pipelines, and customer-facing products towards our mission of developing and delivering better health care.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Product Manager to help us elevate our data experience applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including commercial stakeholders, AI, privacy, data engineering, bioinformatics, clinical informatics, and human genetics research to deliver data applications, services, and analytical platforms to enable the next generation of genetic and healthcare discovery by our health system researchers and life sciences partners. You will have the opportunity to impact the way biobank-scale genomic research is done toward the discovery of novel therapies and improved precision medicine practices.
As a Senior Platform Product Manager, you will:
- Own the roadmap, gather requirements, and lead go to market for new or updated tools and services to enable successful partnerships, research use, and commercialization of our platform tools using genomic and healthcare data
- Develop and communicate a clear platform vision and strategy in alignment with company goals, that break down into key initiatives and deliverables.
- Capture, document, and communicate requirements in PRDs with clear prioritization; track and manage development using Jira and other common tools
- Maximize cross-functional efficiencies and effectiveness during development and implementation; coordinate dependencies with other teams, train and gather feedback from stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding product updates, timelines, and feedback. Assist with new partner/customer onboarding, including creation of standard materials and playbooks that enable self-service.
- Be a source of clarity and communication, an advocate and educator. Set proper expectations on project status, timelines, dependencies, risks, and create mitigation plans
- Identify, drive, and communicate about key metrics that improve product performance, customer experience, and revenue
About you:
- Master’s degree or better in Biomedical Informatics, Genetics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, and/or technical product management, working at the interface of science, software, and research
- Proven track record of managing and delivering complex technical products, including with embedded machine-learning and/or AI capabilities
- Experience building data products that serve clinical and/or genomic data
- Familiarity with TREs and data regulatory policies
- Experience managing products and/or pipelines built with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Strong problem-solving skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a “get stuff done” attitude.
- Organized, reliable, team player, able to weigh trade-offs and make decisions in an ever-changing environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Pluses:
- Experience with genomic data and biobank-scale analysis methods
- Experience with OMOP
- Experience building products for academic and/or industry scientists
- Experience with growth-stage organizations
- Understanding of standardized clinical vocabularies and ontologies
- Knowledge of the various file formats and tools in next-generation sequencing bioinformatics (FASTQ, BAM, VCF, Hail, Plink, etc)
- Familiarity with DNANexus, AoU Researcher Workbench, Terra, Databricks, or other research platform
- Experience deploying Agentic workflows and/or building agent-based tools into released products

Expected Pay For This Role:There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary 2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity
- Expected Helix Base: $150,000 – $203,000
- Expected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 15% of your annual salary
- Equity: We offer generous equity at Helix. If you receive a Helix offer your recruiter will book dedicated time with you to educate you on our equity model.
The salary range above is our reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role across US locations. Actual starting pay will be based on non-discriminatory job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. What To Expect During Your Onboarding Week:
We want to make sure your first week is spent learning the foundations. You will be invited to live orientation sessions and spend time with your hiring manager developing your individual roadmap to success. This experience will include sessions that cover your benefits, security & privacy training, an introduction to the OKR framework used at Helix and our communication tools and norms.
What To Expect During Your First 90 days:
- First 30 days: you’ll spend time learning the Helix way, completing training and onboarding for your roles, and getting introduced to your team and relevant stakeholders. You’ll also gain a deeper understanding of our customers, our products, the impact we make in the lives of our communities, and how to thrive at Helix through participation in Helix U.
- Day 30 – 60: you’ll spend time contributing to projects, deeply familiarizing yourself with team and company processes, and developing a deeper understanding of Helix’s products, services and capabilities.
- Day 60 – 90: you’ll build your OKRs with your manager, start to take ownership of projects and initiatives on your team, and begin to demonstrate your impact on the Helix mission.
