Wood is recruiting a hands-on Lead Construction Planner to join our Operations business in a pivotal role as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry on a major brownfields Engineering Service Contract. This is a contract role, based in the Perth CBD.

The Lead Construction Planner shall support the project and business department through the preparation and progressing of construction schedules, ensuring that schedules are prepared and progressed to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Will be Planning focal point for Construction Functional Activity Planning scopes
- To be responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of Construction schedules and associated documents
- Review and issue updates to project schedules and project manpower requirements
- Attend internal/external weekly progress and performance status meetings as required
- Assist, where necessary, with the development of subcontractor schedules
- Analyse and review Construction job card updates, forecast POB
- Work closely with Construction team on day-to-day schedule changes
- Review and incorporate subcontractor schedules into project master schedule.
- Development and maintenance of schedule forecast
- Identify and analyse potential project problems and recommends corrective action and follow up on recommendations
- Review and discuss the schedule analysis with Project Managers and Offshore superintendents
- Review and analyse look-ahead schedule and variance reports
- Review and endorse schedule impact related to change orders
- Assists in the preparation of the weekly progress reporting

Ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar Lead Planner role, supported by 10+ years of relevant planning within the Oil & Gas Planning/Offshore experience.
In addition, you will:
- Experience in managing construction schedules essential
- Understanding of the use of norms & productivity measures
- Good IT knowledge, including Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Good supervisory skills
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques
- Advanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling
- Advanced ability to develop project schedules and plans
- Advanced ability to prepare resource loading, progress and staffing plans
- Excellent understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending and what-if scenarios
