Our Finance and Corporate Services business unit is a fusion of multiple functions — financial planning and accounting, facilities and building management, procurement, corporate governance and performance, legal and compliance. The Finance Team also defines UCAS’ financial strategy.

About the role
The Commercial and Estates Support Officer will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Commercial and Estates Teams within the Finance and Corporate Services business unit. This role is key to ensuring the smooth functioning of day-to-day activities and facilitating effective team performance.
Key accountabilities:
• Support the Commercial & Estates Planning Manager with establishing and maintaining formal reporting arrangements on commercial and estates activities and programmes progress for the executive team and senior stakeholders.
• Support the Commercial and Estates Planning Manager in ensuring work is proactively managed, planned and delivered in a risk managed and efficient way in line with the commercial plan. Producing scheduled and reactive commercial reports using NetSuite.
• Manage and coordinate all ‘live’ and ‘pipeline’ projects in the commercial plan to ensure accurate and up to date information and aid planning.
• Accountable for the management of the Commercial inbox. Actioning and responding where possible or ensuring emails are quickly directed to an appropriate member of the team.
• Management of the Supplier Assurance process – sometimes undertaking the checks, sometimes directing others to undertake checks as appropriate.

Skills, qualifications, and experience
• High quality organisational skills and ability to plan, manage and prioritise own workload.
• Adaptable and flexible within a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• High degree of competence in the use of MS Office suite – specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• An understanding of the importance of correctly handling and storing confidential information.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to determine who needs to be kept informed on specific topics.
• Confident dealing with people at all levels of an organisation.
• Ability to build strong relationships and challenge when necessary.
• A team player with the ability to take the lead when necessary.
• Keen to learn and progress with a very flexible approach to work.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• An understanding of the higher education sector or a data business is desirable.

Salary – up to £29,500
