Job Overview
APTIM is seeking an experienced Site Manager / Superintendent to support the HNC POA RMMR contract across six Department of Defense facilities in Alaska. This role is responsible for managing recurring maintenance inspections and repairs (routine, planned, and emergency) of capitalized fueling systems.
The Site Manager will directly supervise subcontractors, ensure quality control and safety compliance, and manage significant field data collection and electronic reporting. This position is highly field-focused and requires daily travel between multiple job sites.
This role involves work in Arctic and extreme environmental conditions and requires a strong safety mindset, technical expertise in fueling systems, and the ability to lead subcontractor teams in dynamic field environments.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Manage and oversee recurring maintenance, inspection, and repair of DoD fueling systems across multiple installations.
- Evaluate system conditions and make informed decisions regarding repairs, maintenance priorities, and long-term system reliability.
- Support both planned routine work and emergency response activities.
- Ensure compliance with contract Performance Work Statements and individual Scopes of Work.
- Directly supervise subcontractors supporting field operations.
- Coordinate schedules and manage multiple subcontractors simultaneously across various sites.
- Conduct daily briefings, safety meetings, and project updates with facility managers and subcontractor teams.
- Serve as the primary Quality Control lead for all field work.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, industry standards, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot complex service orders and resolve field issues efficiently.
- Serve as the site safety leader, ensuring safety plans are implemented and followed.
- Enforce compliance with EM 385-1-1 and company safety procedures.
- Maintain required documentation and safety reporting.
- Collect substantial field data and perform electronic data entry and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure systems are operating properly and deficiencies are addressed quickly.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of fueling systems experience or equivalent technical experience including:
- Mechanical and piping work
- Tank systems and coatings
- Fueling system upgrades
- Inspections, testing, and repairs
- Strong safety background with demonstrated commitment to safe operations.
- Experience managing subcontractors and field teams.
- Familiarity with:
- UFGS, UFC, ASME Codes, API standards (highly preferred)
- Ability to pass background checks for military base access.
- Prior military access or security clearance is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $90,000 – $146,000 Per Year. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
