Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, is seeking a skilled Science and Technology Editor to join its Community Advancement department. Wolfram’s social network, Wolfram Community, is a booming hub for cutting-edge technical discussions. The Science and Technology Editor will help with academic and industry outreach, content and forum editorial duties, and communications with numerous industry leaders coming from across a variety of fields and will work tightly with many internal Wolfram teams, from marketing to R&D and more. This is a part-time position with up to 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Leading outreach and high-profile member communications for editorial periodicals such as Staff Picks and Publication Materials
- Processing technical editorials and content for advanced scientific and technical articles
- Monitoring, contributing, editing and aiding with posts and comments on Wolfram Community
- Innovating and documenting best social network practices
- Reporting and explaining possible issues from Wolfram Community to the appropriate Wolfram teams
Qualifications
- Fluency in English
- Proficiency in Wolfram Language and/or at least one other programming language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Patience, diligence and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently or with a team
- Ability to multitask and work promptly in multichannel communications environments
- Ability to work during main US Central Time hours
