The Manager, Retailer Data Partnerships role is to establish and reinforce the NCS value proposition with new and participating retailers. They will help become a revenue generating value to the retailer and a solutions provider by strengthening NCS’s relationship with major retailer clients, expanding offerings and adding value by helping clients to grow their businesses via use of the NCS products

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain day to day relationships with participating retailers
  • Establish new relationships with retailers and data providers to expand the current NCS data set
  • Manage the parent company relationships ensuring that the terms of the agreement are maintained
  • Prepare proposals and recommendations for future business opportunities
  • Penetrate business, analytic and operations/IT functions with retail partners such that business process is solidly established.  Understand and leverage parent company contacts at the retailer as needed.
  • Coordinate delivery of insights to retailers with NCS SME’s and delivery team.
  • Establish priorities and negotiate limits to manage the demand on the delivery team.
  • Monitor NCS/Experian progress with retailers through each “match” cycle to ensure proper input files are received on a timely basis and updated files are returned to the retailers.  Help overcome roadblocks through relationships developed with retailer business leaders/contacts.
  • Ensure data flow to NCS remains continuous by working with base parent company account teams during contract renewal process for both NCS addendums and base network contracts.
  • Sell-in new product opportunities that require retailer participation and permission beyond that granted in base NCS approvals (example:  PDM, rest of market analytics, TBD).
  • Participate as member of NCS’s retail/BUY data team in annual strategic planning, providing insights from the retailer relationship perspective and enhancing NCS’s retailer value proposition.
  • Attend key CPG/Retailer trade shows and educational forums (i.e., FMI) in order to understand retailer needs, interact with retailers and secure new retailer partners.
  • Understand and assist with data stewardship and usage rights of retailer’sdata within NCS, ensuring we meet expectations. (i.e., Client Consulting – approvals for account specific campaigns when needed, Operations – modeling levels etc.
  • Ensure that quarterly revenue share calculations are properly administered (percent of retailer data calculations, revenue subject to share, etc.)  Work with IT, finance/accounting as needed.
  • Gather input on product needs/enhancements.  Participate in cross functional teams/projects
  • Participate in the design and development of prototype solutions
  • Participate in knowledge sharing across the organization

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Has 5-7 years of experience working directly with retailers and good understanding of retailer’s operations and data collection processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer contact, negotiation, and persuasive skills are a plus
  • Must be able to travel (30%) and willing to meet with retailer and data partners

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $65,000 – $121,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee’s geographic location.  The position of each employee within a compensation range at NCS is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
