The User Experience Designer will work alongside our User Experience Team to design experiences that make websites and applications user-friendly, intuitive, and will enhance user experience, adoption, and conversions. The UX Designer will create workflows, and prototypes for corporate websites and online platforms.
This position also requires timely and effective communication and collaboration with other designers and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create workflows, lo-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, concept sketches, interaction designs, and user flows
  • Work with the Experience Design Leader to optimize products and services, and create design specifications
  • Consider design from a holistic standpoint (systems, platforms, and channels) to create a unified user experience
  • Use design thinking to innovate and solve problems
  • Design and implement content creation and governance workflows and documentation
  • Enhance the user experience by creating seamless navigation through various digital platforms
  • Determine information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Audit and assess the current state of digital content and ecosystems, identifying strengths, weaknesses, gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities
  • Perform stakeholder and client interviews to identify and understand user needs and business objectives
  • Works closely with the analytics team to understand analytics data to provide a data-driven experience
  • Develop and maintain UX design requirements for new digital content
  • Help to conduct user research and usability testing to ensure all designs meet user requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create intuitive, user-friendly online experiences, and communicate design ideas and prototypes
  • Receptive to feedback to help elevate the design and reach the goals of the stakeholder and users
  • Understand product specifications and user psychology
  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g., usability, taxonomy, conversion optimization)
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects with various project leads and have a flexible, positive attitude
  • Collaborate actively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to envision concepts and transformation of ideas into reality
  • Help to create documentation for IT developers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, researchers, and designers
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
  • Keep focused on long-term, strategic goals while executing against short-term objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience designing for large, customer-facing websites
  • A degree in Interaction Design, Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • A working knowledge of Adobe XD, Figma, Miro, and Workfront
  • Proficient in wire-framing and comfortable producing concept sketches and user flows
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of work
  • Good working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Understanding of CMS basic principles
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with user research and usability testing is a plus
  • Experience with mobile and responsive design is highly desirable
  • Understanding of design theory and concepts to create effective visual communication with hierarchy and balance (typography, color, space, contrast)
  • Be willing to help teammates, share knowledge and experience with them, and learn from them
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge of the industry’s latest trends and technologies.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills when communicating with stakeholders and clients
Salary and Incentives:
Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.
