Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for design support for multiple Furniture account executives (FAE’s)
- Accompany FAE’s to customer locations for field measurement verification, customer interface, furniture specification, space-planning, design, and workspace solutions
- Play an active role in promoting and selling interior design services to internal and external clients through presentations, drawings and visual representations
- Participate in industry organizations and events, representing the company within Architecture, Design, Real Estate and Facilities markets.During Pre-Design and Programming Phase, use consultative design skills, interpret customer needs through interviews, on site visits and meetings.
- Assist client with scope clarification, budget development, project timeline expectations, project phasing, long range strategic design planning and the integration of design services with other consultants.
- Through Conceptual and Schematic Phase, provide creative and innovative design concepts that address user needs, workflow, brand identity, budgets, timeframes, integration of existing products, typicals and furnishing standards, building finishes and the integration of a cohesive design statement.
- During Design Development, work on space planning, furniture product selection and specification and application in CET, AutoCAD, Cap, Visual Impressions, and other software tools as available.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Certification Requirements
- Proficiency in design, space-planning, space assessment, compliance requirements, and relevant software skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in queue, assessing prioritization in conjunction with deadlines, timelines, lead times, and go-live dates
- Work closely with corporate designers, Architect & Design firms, general contractors, project management companies or individuals, and end-users – all at every level of engagement
- CIDQ or NCIDQ preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contract furniture design and space planning, professional presentation skills, successful interaction with all levels from end-users to C-Suite at client levels, ability to
- Manage projects from inception to occupancy, excellent communication skills with external and internal customers, ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely. Professional appearance and detail-oriented mindset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contract furniture design and space planning, professional presentation skills, successful interaction with all levels from end-users to C-Suite at client levels, ability to manage projects from inception to occupancy, excellent communication skills with external and internal customers, ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely. - You have a consultative approach, are able to conduct research, establish a business case and follow a consistent sales process in order to sell our services
- You demonstrate a high level of thought leadership, design strategy and an overall understanding of the workplace
- You have specific understanding and application of theories or principles of commercial interiors and business in general
- You are skilled in design oversight and review, relative to codes, prevailing lows and constructability. You have excellent verbal and written skills and are comfortable presenting to C-Level executives
- You work well under pressure, and are able to balance and prioritize multiple projects at once, often working against tight deadline.
