We also need to spread awareness of how data observability can help data teams deliver data their colleagues can trust.
As our Content Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for educating data engineers about the benefits of data observability. Between content marketing and search engine optimization, you’ll drive results at the top of the funnel. You’ll report to our Head of Marketing, but work closely with our company co-founders and the rest of our Marketing team on a day-to-day basis.

Your day-to-day at Metaplane
As part of our growing content marketing team at Metaplane, your day-to-day responsibilities will often include:
- Content strategy: Drive Metaplane’s content strategy that educates our audience, advances the cause of data observability, and drives growth throughout the funnel. You’ll also work on content distribution, to ensure that our content increases traffic.
- Content roadmap: Own the editorial calendar, which includes content on the Metaplane blog, launch content, and SEO-driven content. You’ll mix content creation with attention to updating existing content, so we maintain or grow SEO rankings and drive conversions.
- Content contractor and agency management: Hire, manage, and assign content production work to freelancers, contractors, and agencies. You’ll ensure that our freelancer content meets our voice and tone guidelines and meets our quality bar.
- Content measurement: Analyze the impact of content and prioritize the roadmap based on content that builds our brand, drives traffic, and converts.
- Content process: We don’t have all of our processes, tools, and workflows built out yet. You’ll help us build the foundation and maintain and develop the Metaplane voice and tone.
- Writing and Editing: As needed, write or edit SEO blog posts, landing page copy, social media copy, thought leadership posts, and marketing assets.
Is this you?
- You have 5-7 years of content marketing experience, ideally in SaaS. You’ve held titles like writer, staff writer, editor, content specialist, content marketing manager, or content strategist.
- You have a proven track record of driving meaningful results across the customer journey, but especially the top and middle of the funnel
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates a breadth of content, such as blog articles, guides, video scripts, and other types of content you’d find in an SEO-driven content strategy.
- You understand how to manage content production, working with in-house teammates, contractors, and agencies to execute an editorial calendar.
- You’re an experienced program manager who feels confident juggling multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- You have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with others.
- You’re comfortable with technology and find it easy to learn how to use new tools. You have an opinion on which tools we should use to keep our content production running smoothly.
