Wpromote is looking for a Data Analyst with excellent math, logic, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and the desire to learn new tools and strategies.  This individual will contribute to data cleansing, data analysis, and visualization initiatives. The primary function of this role will be to create end-to-end solutions and provide actionable insights to our client’s marketing initiatives. This individual will also maintain existing solutions while gaining guided experience in advanced analytics to enable increased responsibility over time. This individual will also have the opportunity to work with exciting clients in the e-commerce, retail, and entertainment space while interacting with the Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science teams.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $65,000 – $80,000, based on consideration of a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).

You Will Be

  • Making platform and CRM data more accessible, understandable, and usableLearning to transform, improve, and integrate data, depending on the business requirements
  • Planning and scoping end-to-end data analysis projects by identifying the business problem and selecting appropriate investigative testing and solutions
  • Using SQL and BigQuery to combine data sets across multiple sources
  • Delivering the data in a useful and appealing way to technical and non-technical audiences using Looker
  • Querying, cleaning, formatting, and structuring data for analysis
  • Interpreting, presenting, and communicating results by creating presentations and/or dashboards that communicate a succinct and compelling business story, driving decisions through research results
  • Learning how to automate data gathering, blending, and transformation of data
  • Working across various departments to understand client needs

You Must Have

  • 1-2 years of hands-on data analysis experience within an agency or in-house environment
  • Intermediate to advanced programming skills (R or Python) for data cleaning, data modeling, API calls, etc
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in SQL (i.e.: window functions, stored procedures, and views, Triggers, Unions, CTEs, subqueries, debugging)
  • Intermediate to advanced competency in statistics, probability, and linear algebraAdvanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
  • Familiarity with at least one BI platform and the ability to learn others (i.e.: Looker, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Google Data Studio, Datorama, etc.), with a preference for Datorama and/or Looker
  • Experience/familiarity with version control (i.e.: Git, Bitbucket, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work with large amounts of information and see the bigger picture
  • Excellent foundational math/statistical skills with the ability to juggle facts, figures, and number crunching
  • Strong communication skills, with experience in creating and delivering presentations and executive summaries
  • Critical thinking: the ability to look at numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings
  • Familiarity with cloud computing
  • The ability to frame business problems into quantitative methods and testing
  • An interest or passion for marketing analytics and/or personal project portfolio
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Stats, Mathematics, CS, Information Technology, Economics, Engineering, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with statistical modeling and/or machine learning
  • Knowledge with Media Advertising Platforms, such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, Yahoo Gemini
  • Experience with Analytics software, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
  • Experience with statistical modeling, data mining, and/or machine learning
  • Experience with Looker and/or Tableau
  • Working knowledge in CLI and bash scripting
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
