The Opportunity – Director of Union Payroll Operations:
Wrapbook is looking for an experienced leader for our Union Payroll Operations team. As the leader of the Union Payroll Operations team, you are responsible for delivering the most critical function for Wrapbook: ensuring payroll is completed and contributions are remitted on time and accurately.The ideal candidate has experience building a high-performing team. You understand how entertainment payroll has been done, but are excited to transform legacy processes, systems and tools to develop to provide a better customer experience. You are a self-starter, detail oriented, highly organized and analytical. This role will report to the SVP of Client Operations.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and optimize a team of seven paymasters and payroll remittance specialists in a fully remote environment
- Share your domain expertise to help drive efficiencies, increase productivity and quality.
- Partner with internal teams to build dashboards and tracking to measure team member productivity and quality. Use this performance reporting to coach accordingly.
- Ability to synthesize complex collective bargaining agreements and mathematical rules
- Review client timecards to ensure they meet all Federal/State and production union regulations and requirements
- Ensure correct interpretation of production union agreements and other provisions
- Understanding of and ability to manually check calculations
- Work directly with clients to establish a full understanding of their union payroll process including roles and responsibilities of all parties involved
- Participate with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives to better organize and grow the organization
- Key decision maker for union operational matters to ensure achievement of goals and KPI’s
- The ability to understand, summarize and translate the team’s needs to product and engineering. Partner with product and engineering to determine the best phased approach for delivery.
- Oversee the remittance process of contributions & dues in a timely manner
- Create and maintain metrics to understand the health of our customers as well as our internal processes
- Organize and track all projects, payroll batches, dues, benefit plan contributions, remittances, etc.
- Stay up-to-date with film industry standards and union contracts and interpretations
- Independently research issues as they arise and suggest options for resolution
- Demonstrated success in all managerial duties to include: goal setting, performance management, hiring, termination
What you’ll have:
- 5+ years managing and directing a team of paymasters that are experienced in the production industry
- Proactive, self-starter that will drive the team’s day to day.
- Hands on experience in all managerial duties to include (but not limited to): coaching, goal setting, performance management, hiring, terminations
- Experience executing remittances or processing payroll. If you have not performed these functions, you have managed a team responsible for remittances and processing payroll
- Hands on experience with production union payroll processes fro calculations through to remittances
- Extensive knowledge of all unions and associated agreements with Commercial, TV and Theatrical.
- Demonstrated success in implementing processes and efficiencies that best service our customers
- Considered an expert or subject matter expert in a multi-union environment (SAG, IATSE, MPI…etc)
- Knowledge and ability to calculate union timecards without software and with respect to their bargaining agreements
- Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex issues to various levels of an organization
- Experience collaborating with clients and internal departments to identify needs, prioritize requests, and build effective relationships using tact and diplomacy
- Understanding and commitment to maintaining current knowledge of industry trends, concepts, products and best practices.
- The ability to set quarterly, monthly goals and hold the team accountable to meeting targets.

Base Salary Range: $148,000 – $240,000 (This is not inclusive of any bonus, commission, benefits or equity that might exist in your total compensation package.)
Wrapbook employs individuals across the United States and Canada, and this salary range spans multiple geographic zones based on market benchmark data. Your zone is dependent on where you live.
