About the role
The Principal PM, Enterprise Security is a unique opportunity to create and build the business and product outcomes for our new compliance offering. We’re looking for someone who is customer-obsessed, deeply understands their product line, enjoys building early-stage products, and is accountable for execution of the roadmaps they build with their teammates.
What you’ll do
- Drive a portion of the roadmap for Splunk Enterprise Security to delight Splunk customers
- Build strong executive relationships with customers and support Executive Briefings
- Be directly accountable for success of the first customers of a key expansion area
- Partner with engineering on headcount planning, delivery schedules, and cloud operations needs
- Directly engage with sales team to understand strengths, weaknesses, and market conditions in selling your products
- Assist sales and marketing in positioning your products in sales opportunities to support sales in deal structuring. Provide direct engagement for early sales opportunities
- Partner with key industry analysts to deliver successful outcomes for industry research and publication
- Our Product Management role at Splunk requires hands-on collaboration with a team of engineers, QA, UX and customers to continue Splunk’s tradition of building groundbreaking products. You will be able to merge attention to technical detail with ability to understand and align to business imperatives
- Regular engagement with customers at all levels (technical users through CxO) to deeply understand the perception of the security operations products
What you’ll bring
- Strong awareness and understanding of the security market in general, and specifically in the areas of threat detection and SEIM
- Adaptable presentation abilities to present to CxO level audiences as well as technical users of products
- Experience delivering products through a modern cloud-native enterprise sales process
- Technical skills strong enough to link architectural decisions to business impacts and deliver live demonstrations of the products
- Experience with adapting product pricing, GTM strategies, cost models, and promotions to drive business outcomes
- Experience managing a team of product managers

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $205,600.00 – 282,700.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $184,000.00 – 253,000.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $172,000.00 – 236,500.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
