CrossFit is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for handling the day-to-day accounting operations and month-end tasks, including account reconciliations, journal entries, daily cash and weekly cash reporting, interacting with third party tax provider on all sales & Use tax, interacting with our international third-party accounting providers primarily for VAT tax reporting and ad-hoc research and analysis. The Accounting Manager will report to the Vice President of Accounting + Controller, working closely with others in the organization through analysis & reconciliation of accounts and through development & implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. The ideal candidate will possess leadership capabilities, solid knowledge of technical accounting, a high level of attention to detail as well as the ability to multi-task and juggle priorities. This role has opportunities to grow along with the company’s expansion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead monthly close activities and preparation of financial statements
- Prepare all monthly journal entries with supporting backup, ensuring that transactions are accurately explained and supported
- Analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Post cash and balance cash accounts daily for all accounts US and Foreign
- Reconcile Corporate Credit Card transactions
- Record and reconcile all payrolls including the foreign entities
- Record all Fixed Assets and run depreciation expense
- Responsible for monthly sales & use tax reporting as well as VAT reporting and relationship with third party interface Avalara
- Manage two junior accountants
- Identifies opportunities and implements process improvement and automation in an ambiguous dynamic environment
- Assist in the gathering of audit requests
- Assist in other projects as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
- Experience with NetSuite and intermediate Excel skills strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting concepts, and financial statements
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with all levels of personnel
- Adaptable to a changing, fast-paced work environment
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Display appropriate ethical knowledge through extraordinary confidentiality, integrity and professional presentation and conduct
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA or Masters preferred
- 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably at least 2 in public accounting
