Position Overview:
Are you innately curious, passionate about building impactful analyses, and a truth seeker using financial data? Splunk is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Customer Success FP&A team. Candidates will have outstanding business partnership and communication skills, possess deep attention to detail, be able to balance multiple priorities, and thrive in the ambiguity that comes with a dynamic Customer Success organization. Reporting into the Senior Director of Global Customer Success FP&A, this individual is a modeling guru who is excited to dive into the financial aspects of the Support organization including: customer case volumes, product support costing, cost per case metrics, headcount capacity planning and more. You will be intimately involved in planning, forecasting, budget vs. actuals analysis, and the monthly close cycles for the Customer Support team, which is a part of the broader Customer Success organization.. This is an outstanding opportunity to become a key FP&A lead supporting the Customer Support organization and own critical Finance processes and workstreams.Responsibilities:
- Quickly establish positive relationships and become a key advisor for our Customer Support team, allowing you to build a solid understanding of business data inputs and outputs.
- Build and maintain detailed financial and operating models to help predict future performance, perform scenario analyses, and guide the business on strategic decisions. Key models will include the Support headcount capacity model, cost per case and other productivity analysis that drive cost efficient customer outcomes.
- Perform financial month-end close activities, including headcount reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and budget vs. actuals analysis and reporting.
- Roll up your sleeves and assist in developing annual operating plans and quarterly/monthly financial forecasts for bookings, revenue, expenses and headcount.
- Monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends, providing recommendations for improvement, and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.
- Partner across the team to leverage best practices to maximize team productivity.
Requirements:
- 5 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong preference for those with prior experience in FP&A at a software/SaaS business.
- Strong forecasting methods and techniques. Advanced analytical and quantitative abilities. Able to manipulate large amounts of data and summarize key outputs.
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating complex financial information in an easy to understand format.
- Collaboratively-focused and able to work well with others in a fast-paced and ever changing business.
- Comfortable completing projects requiring individual initiative and flexibility in tight time frames with minimal supervision.
- Microsoft Excel is a must.
- Other software and system skills (Google Suite, Salesforce, SAP, Workday, Tableau, Slack, Zoom) a plus.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Alteryx or equivalent data analytics tool.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics
