This role will develop and enhance customer-facing applications and integrations on the Salesforce platform. We seek a team member with excellent communication, analytical, and attention to detail to ask the right questions and gather all the appropriate information needed for new features and/or improvements to existing ones.
They will collaborate with the digital and cross-functional teams, including product owners, marketing, physicians, customer experience, operations leadership, and others within the IT team, to understand customer needs and service offerings and use this information to design and build digital products that meet business needs. This role will also be responsible for the enterprise’s code development and implementation of the Salesforce platform, including customization, development, integration, testing, debugging, deployment, and documentation. Development and implementation work can span the GoHealth Salesforce portfolio of Service Cloud, Health Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Revenue Cloud.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for significant areas of the Salesforce strategic roadmap. Continually review new innovations in Salesforce releases and how they can be applied to GoHealth business needs.
- This Salesforce role will work on various tasks, including customization, development, integration, testing, debugging, deployment, and documentation.
- Work on day-to-day Salesforce needs that include:
- Customization: Customize the Salesforce platform according to business requirements, which may involve creating custom objects, fields, validation rules, and approval processes.
- Development: Write Apex code for triggers, classes, and controllers, as well as create Visualforce pages and Lightning components for custom user interfaces
- Integration: Integrate Salesforce with other systems, including SaaS applications from other vendors using REST APIs, web services, middleware solutions, event-driven systems, or data warehouses.
- Testing and debugging: Perform unit testing, debug issues, and ensure the quality of their code and applications.
- Deployment: Manage the deployment of their work to different Salesforce environments, such as sandbox and production, using tools like Change Sets, Salesforce CLI, or other third-party solutions.
- Documentation: Create technical documentation to support their work and assist other team members, such as administrators and business analysts.
- Work with the Product Owner on Salesforce implementation projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project scope and quality standards.
- Regularly interact with stakeholders from various departments to identify requirements, update & implement business processes, data uploads & updates, report production, and will serve as the link between stakeholders, users, and application developers.
- Help to ensure that all documentation is up to date and maintain a strong understanding of the operational processes supported within the Salesforce application to gain direct feedback for potential enhancements.
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in computer science required (or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce developer in a healthcare or retail setting
- 3+ years leading teams developing and supporting Salesforce platform
- Deep Salesforce platform knowledge and an understanding of business processes
- Salesforce Platform App Builder
- Salesforce Platform Developer I, II
- Salesforce Administrator
- Familiarity with Salesforce’s core features and functionality, including the Service Cloud (Service Cloud Voice, Chat/Einstein Bots), Health Cloud, and Data Cloud
- Understanding the Salesforce architecture, data, and security models
- Expertise in Apex and ability to develop the platform’s custom logic, triggers, and batch processes
- Visualforce and Lightning: Experience with Visualforce and Lightning components for creating custom user interfaces and interactive applications.
- Proficiency in Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) and Salesforce Object Search Language (SOSL) for querying and searching data within the Salesforce platform
- Experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, etc.) for integrating Salesforce with external systems and applications. Know databases and relationships (parent and child relationships) and how they can be used throughout development.
- Understand composition, encapsulation, invocable methods, Governor’s Limits on Salesforce, security considerations, and unit testing
- DevOps/release management experience
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
