You can take screenshots in Windows 11 by using the built-in Snipping Tool or by using keyboard shortcuts.
- Using the Snipping Tool:
- Click on the Start button and search for “Snipping Tool”
- Open the Snipping Tool
- Click on “New” to start a new snip
- Select the area of the screen you want to capture
- Save the screenshot
- Using Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Press the Windows key + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool in Windows 11
- Select the area of the screen you want to capture
- The screenshot will be copied to your clipboard and you can paste it into an image editing program or document.
- Pressing Windows key + PrtScn will take a full-screen screenshot, it will save the screenshots to the Pictures > Screenshots folder.
- Pressing Alt + PrtScn will take a screenshot of the active window, it will be saved to your clipboard.
You can also use third-party apps or browser extension to take screenshots.
It’s important to note that the Snipping Tool is available in Windows 11 but Microsoft has announced that it will be replaced by the new Snip & Sketch tool.
