Dyson

Dyson Limited, commonly known as Dyson, is a Singaporean–British multinational technology company founded in 1991 by James Dyson in Malmesbury, England. The company specializes in the design and manufacture of innovative household appliances including vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heaters, hair dryers, and lighting products. Dyson is renowned for its proprietary Root Cyclone technology and its development of high-speed digital motors that power its product range.

Originally headquartered in the United Kingdom, Dyson moved its headquarters to Singapore in 2019 to be closer to its manufacturing and supply chain operations as well as its Asian customer base. Despite the relocation, Dyson maintains a significant presence in the UK and continues to invest heavily in research and development to maintain its technological edge.

Dyson’s product innovation is characterized by its engineering-driven approach, focusing on solving problems that others often overlook. This philosophy has led to breakthrough products like the Airblade hand dryer and the Air Multiplier bladeless fan. The company also researches the environmental impact of its products and pursues sustainability initiatives to mitigate effects on production, land, and the environment.

Dyson employs over 14,000 people globally and continues to expand its technology portfolio, including ventures into robotic vacuum cleaners and electric vehicles. The company emphasizes proprietary technology, such as its digital brushless motors, which operate at extremely high speeds (up to 110,000 rpm) and contribute to the efficiency and performance of its products.
