WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR ðŸ”
We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer II to work alongside the Engineering team to build and improve tools to deploy, scale, secure, monitor and diagnose Flipp’s systems in order to guarantee business continuity and daily operations of the engineering teams. You will participate in on-call and daily-support rotations in order to respond to infrastructure-level support requests and emergencies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 💪ðŸ»
Production Engineering
- Build and improve our tools for deploying, monitoring and managing our systems
- Partner with product development teams in order to provide domain expertise around infrastructure design, security and observability
- Identify opportunities of improvements and automation in order to turn them into self-serve features in existing and/or new platforms.
Operational excellenceÂ
- Participate in periodic on-call rotation with the rest of the SRE team to support and maintain the high availability of our systems and ensure Flipp is a world-class platform
- Participate in periodical concierge rotation to provide operational support for engineering team members through a kanban-managed stream of requests.
Knowledge sharingÂ
- Build and maintain documentation and playbooks for the tools built or modified
- Share knowledge and experience with other SREs on the team and develop a set of best practices to be used throughout the engineering organization through presentations and lunch and learn workshops.
External Communication
- Communicate with vendor’s engineering teams during the integration with or diagnostics of a 3rd party service/partners

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 🪄
- 2 years of experience with infrastructure automation on AWS or other cloud providers
- 2 years of Linux systems administration experience
- Proficient in at least one of the following languages (Ruby, Python, Perl)
- A knack for diagnosing and troubleshooting problems
- Strong sense of empathy towards struggles of other team members in the organization
- High growth expectations for yourself and your team, and a willingness to push yourself and your team to achieve them
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent designation
