Job Description
What will you do?
The Data Services Manager (IT Supervisor 3) leads and supervises a team of technical professionals responsible for database administration, data engineering, and business intelligence development. As a Data Services Manager, you will be involved with the following duties:
- Assigning, prioritizing & tracking work
- Evaluating staff performance
- Providing mentorship and guidance to support professional development and team growth
- Establishing and enforcing technical and operational standards across data-related functions
- Coordinating with contract staff and vendors supporting enterprise data platforms and pipeline toolsÂ
- Overseeing the design, development, and modernization of the agency’s data infrastructure, including SQL Server, Cloudera/Hue, Snowflake, and SSIS
- Leading implementation and operation of enterprise data pipeline and transformation tools such as StreamSets
- Ensuring integration of data services with agency systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, and .NET applications
- Partnering with the Chief Data Officerâs team, business units, and application teams to align on data strategy and reporting needs
- Tracking trends and evaluating emerging data technologies to inform strategic decision-makingÂ
- Completing other duties as assigned within scope of the positionÂ

Qualifications
7 1/2 years (90 mos.) exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting AND 12 months exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.Â
-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in computer science, or completion of undergraduate core coursework in any academic major which included at least one course in each of the following: advanced-level computer programming language (for example, Cobol, Delphi, Java, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, Pl 1, SAS PCS, Pacbase, Full Visual Suite, Designer 2000, Developer 2000, C, C++, Visual C, ECL, or Visual Studio), logic-based mathematics, data base concepts (for example, Oracle, Microsoft Access, Paradox, Sybase, IMS DB, DB2, Cache, DMS, or RDMS), computer systems analysis & design, & basic data processing concepts AND additional 5 1/2 years (66 mos.) exp. commensurate with job duties to be performed & knowledges & skills required as outlined in approved position description on file for position to be filled as advertised in job posting. AND 12 mos. exp. in performing project management functions as defined in series purpose.Â

Supplemental Information

- Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.
- The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02, âBackground Investigations for Employment,â outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being employed by the Department of Developmental Disabilities.Â
- The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to the appointment to test for illegal drug use.
