Fullstack Academy

Fullstack Academy is a technology education provider headquartered in New York City, specializing in immersive, live online bootcamp programs. Founded in 2012 by David Yang and Nimit Maru, the academy offers accelerated training in software engineering, cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence & machine learning. Its curriculum is designed to deliver synchronous, vocational training that prepares students for expert-level careers in the tech industry through hands-on, JavaScript-driven learning that includes Node.js, React, and MongoDB.

The academy is recognized as one of the nation’s longest-running and most reputable tech bootcamp providers, having graduated over 2,500 students since its inception. Beyond its core offerings, Fullstack Academy introduced the Grace Hopper Program in 2016, a deferred-tuition software engineering curriculum specifically designed for women and non-binary students to help close the engineering skills gap. The company operates with a hybrid model, providing courses both remotely and in-person in New York City, and maintains partnerships with leading universities, organizations, and government agencies nationwide.

In March 2019, Fullstack Academy was acquired by Zovio (formerly Bridgepoint Education), a publicly traded edtech company, in a deal valued at approximately $33 million. The founding co-leaders, David Yang and Nimit Maru, continued to run the company until mid-2021, after which Jerrad Tausz became the CEO. Fullstack Academy continues to operate as a key entity within the edtech landscape, delivering high-quality online and in-person tech education to individuals seeking to enter the software development field.
