Central Queensland Indigenous Development
Committed to positive social change for Indigenous Australians through culturally appropriate and holistic services.
We are the Student Conservation Association (SCA), the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and young adults. Since 1957, we have been dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for people to connect with nature while building the skills and confidence needed to become environmental stewards. Our work is rooted in service. Through hands-on conservation projects, our participants help protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, and community green spaces across the country. These experiences allow young people to contribute directly to the places they care about while gaining practical experience in environmental conservation. We are committed to expanding access to nature and creating green job opportunities for the next generation. Our programs are designed to help participants build leadership, teamwork, and job readiness skills while making a tangible impact on the environment and the communities we serve. At SCA, we believe conservation is both a responsibility and an opportunity. We provide pathways for young people to learn from experienced professionals, deepen their environmental awareness, and develop a lifelong connection to stewardship and service. Over the decades, we have supported more than 100,000 young people through conservation experiences in national parks, state forests, and community green spaces. Our legacy reflects a long-standing commitment to developing conservation leaders who are prepared to protect the planet for generations to come. Our mission is to inspire lifelong stewardship through service, learning, and leadership development. We continue to focus on building a stronger, more inclusive conservation movement by engaging young people in work that matters.
