Sample interview questions
I would first clarify the business outcome, target audience, success metrics, and key customer behavior to influence. I would then develop the journey, channel mix, segmentation rules, content brief, trigger logic, data requirements, and measurement plan, reviewing the specification with CRM operations and engineering before launch.
I begin with meaningful behavioral and lifecycle signals, such as recent activity, purchase history, engagement level, destination interest, or stage in the journey. I prioritize segments that have a clear customer need and measurable business hypothesis, then use dynamic content and testing to validate whether personalization improves outcomes.
A complete handoff should define the campaign objective, audience inclusion and exclusion criteria, required data fields, trigger events, timing, channel rules, personalization logic, QA requirements, tracking parameters, and success metrics. I also document dependencies, edge cases, ownership, and approval steps to prevent ambiguity during implementation.
I would connect engagement metrics to the campaign's intended downstream behavior, such as booking conversion, repeat visits, retention, revenue contribution, or reduced churn. I would use holdouts or controlled tests where appropriate, review segment-level performance, and assess whether results are statistically and commercially meaningful.
I use AI to accelerate tasks such as drafting briefs, generating test ideas, synthesizing performance trends, and organizing research, while retaining human judgment over strategy, brand voice, customer impact, and data quality. I validate outputs, protect sensitive customer information, and treat AI recommendations as inputs to test rather than unquestioned decisions.
