Health, Safety and Environment Officer

I support the Health, Safety and Environmental department in implementing workplace safety protocols across operational areas. I conduct safety audits and site inspections to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

I develop, update, and enforce safety procedures, while facilitating safety training sessions and workshops on hazard identification, emergency preparedness, fire prevention, and hazard control. I also monitor employee compliance with safety protocols and carry out follow-up actions to reduce incidents and accidents.

I maintain safety records, incident reports, and audit findings for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. I collaborate with management and staff to promote a strong safety culture and assist with emergency response drills.

I created, implemented, and enforced safety policies to reduce accident risks in an underground mining environment. I conducted site inspections to identify hazardous situations and supported the development of controls to address them.

I specified appropriate personal protective equipment, conducted toolbox talks, and prepared job safety analyses for planned tasks. I also investigated accidents, responded to worker safety concerns, and promoted safe work practices on site.

I monitored safety documents, reports, and issues to keep records current. I additionally reviewed and approved subcontractor safety plans to support compliance and safe project execution.

Studied Environmental Science, including biodiversity conservation and utilization, environmental soil science, environmental and resource economics, occupational health and safety, and environmental management.

Completed a science program with coursework in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
